About Ugochukwu Madu
I am a PhD candidate in Mass Communication at the University of Iowa, United States, with a concentration in Health Communication. I am also an Instructor of Record and the founder of the Glocal Health Communication (GHC) Research Group.
My research interests lie at the intersection of global public health, health communication, and misinformation. I am particularly interested in understanding how misinformation spreads, how it shapes public perceptions and health decisions, and how effective communication interventions can help address its impact.
Beyond research, I am passionate about teaching, academic development, and community engagement. My academic journey has been supported by competitive research grants, fellowships, and recognitions for teaching, scholarship, and service.
